Dunes Beach Resort at 2 Quinns Road, Mindarie is a beachfront glamping resort about 30 minutes north of Perth CBD. It opened on 25 August 2026 with 38 luxury tents, every one of them with a queen bed, a private ensuite and a timber deck facing the ocean.
That is the short answer. Below are the questions people actually ask before they book, from what is inside a tent to whether you need to bring anything with you.
Getting There and What the Site Is Like
How far is it from Perth?
Around 30 minutes north of the CBD via the Mitchell Freeway. Close enough that you can leave work on a Friday and be sitting on your deck before dark, and close enough for a single night away to feel worth it.
Is it actually on the beach?
Yes. The resort sits directly on the coast at Mindarie, and the tents look west over the Indian Ocean. That west facing aspect is also why the sunsets are the thing most guests comment on.
What is glamping here, exactly?
Canvas accommodation with the comfort of a hotel room. The structures are built canvas tents rather than anything you pitch yourself, and they are fitted out with proper beds, linen, soft furnishings and a private bathroom. You can read more on the glamping page.
What is inside each tent?
A queen bed with premium linen, soft furnishings, a private ensuite, a mini fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. Each tent also has its own timber deck with ocean views.
Do the tents have their own bathroom?
Every one of the 38 tents has a private ensuite. There is no shared amenities block and no walking across the site at night.
Which suite should I book?
There are five categories: Ocean Front, Deluxe, Family, Hill Top and UAT. The inclusions are the same across all of them, so the choice comes down to outlook and how many of you there are. Ocean Front has uninterrupted 180 degree sea views and is the one couples usually ask for. Details for each category sit on the beachfront accommodation page.
Do I need to bring camping gear?
No. Beds are made, the bathroom is stocked and the kettle is already there. Bring what you would take to a hotel.
The Tents
Who It Suits
Is it good for a couples weekend?
It is built for it. An Ocean Front or Deluxe suite gives you a queen bed, a private deck facing the water and a restaurant and bar a short walk away, so nobody has to drive anywhere once you arrive.
Can we come as a family?
Yes. The Family category is set up for it, and having Sandara on site means dinner does not turn into a drive back into the suburbs with tired kids in the car.
What about a group of friends or a bigger booking?
Groups can book across multiple tents, and the resort holds up to 86 guests overnight in total. Hens weekends, milestone birthdays and friends taking over a cluster of tents are all handled through group glamping.
Food and Drink On Site
Is there somewhere to eat without leaving the resort?
Sandara is on the same site and runs as a restaurant, cafe, kiosk and bar. Seating is a mix of open air and shaded alfresco, all with ocean views. Tables are booked through ResDiary from the Sandara Dine & Drink page.
Can we get coffee and breakfast in the morning?
Sandara handles breakfast and brunch, and there is a kiosk if you just want a coffee to take back to the deck. Every tent also has tea and coffee facilities. Service times are listed on the breakfast and brunch page.
Where is the best spot for a sunset drink?
The open air seating at Sandara faces west over the water, so the afternoon and evening service looks straight into the sunset. If the sun is still high there are shaded alfresco zones alongside it.
Booking a Stay
How many people can stay at once?
Up to 86 guests across the 38 tents.
When is the quietest time to come?
Midweek. The drive is short enough that a Tuesday or Wednesday night away does not cost you a travel day, and the site is noticeably calmer than a Saturday.
How do I check availability?
Availability across all 38 tents is on the glamping and beachfront accommodation pages. If you would rather talk it through, call 0407 515 489 or email hello@dunesbeachresort.com.au.
