Dunes Beach Resort at 2 Quinns Road, Mindarie is a beachfront venue about 30 minutes north of Perth CBD. The Venue and Getting There
How long is the drive from the CBD?
Roughly 30 minutes north via the Mitchell Freeway. Short enough to keep a 9am start realistic without a bus.
What spaces are there?
A function room, an alfresco deck and a lawn area, all beachfront. They can be used together for a large day or separately if you are running parallel sessions.
Why take a team out of the office at all?
Mostly because the phone stops. Being 30 minutes up the coast with the ocean in front of the room changes how a strategy day runs, and people actually stay in the room.
The Function Room
How can the room be set up?
Theatre, boardroom, U-shape, classroom or banquet. Layouts and dimensions are on the function room page.
Which layout suits which kind of session?
Theatre for a presentation to a large group. Boardroom or U-shape for a leadership session where everyone needs to speak. Classroom when people are taking notes or working on laptops. Banquet for an awards night or end of year dinner.
How many people can attend?
250 or more for a day event. Smaller groups fit comfortably in a boardroom or U-shape setup without the room feeling empty.

Breaks, Catering and the Outdoor Space
Where do people go between sessions?
The alfresco deck and the lawn. Both look over the water and both are a few steps from the room, so a fifteen minute break stays fifteen minutes.
Who handles catering?
Sandara, the restaurant, cafe, kiosk and bar on the same site. Morning coffee, lunch and drinks afterwards all come from the one venue. Details on the Sandara Dine & Drink page.
Types of Events the Site Handles
Can we run a two day offsite or retreat?
Yes. Sessions run in the function room, meals come from Sandara and the team stays on site overnight, so the day does not end with everyone driving home and coming back.
Is it suitable for a team building day?
The combination of an indoor room and a beachfront lawn is what makes it work. Morning session inside, afternoon outside, and nobody has to relocate.
Can we run a wellness day for staff?
Yes. Sessions can run on the lawn or the deck with ocean views and move inside when needed. The health and wellness retreats page covers how those days are usually structured.
Can we host a product launch or a sundowner?
The alfresco deck and lawn are the obvious spaces for an evening event. The site faces west, so a launch timed for late afternoon gets the sunset. See the corporate events page.
What about the end of year party?
Banquet or cocktail style in the function room, with the deck and lawn open alongside it. Staff who would otherwise be organising a lift home can book a tent instead.
Staying Overnight
Can the team stay on site?
Up to 86 people across 38 tents. Group bookings across multiple tents are handled through group glamping.
What is in each tent?
A queen bed with premium linen, a private ensuite, a private timber deck with ocean views, a mini fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. Categories are Ocean Front, Deluxe, Family, Hill Top and UAT.
